Anti-Spam Policy
Introduction
Site4U prohibits the users of its internet services from sending unsolicited e-mail. This prohibition includes any kind of unsolicited bulk e-mail and unsolicited commercial e-mail, better known as spam. The prohibition applies to customers, customers of customers and customers who provide services that enable spammers to send unsolicited e-mail. The prohibition concerns the sending of unsolicited mail via the network and server facilities of Site4U, but also applies if in mailings reference is made to domains or hosting provided via Site4U.
For complaints about spam, please contact us by e-mail at abuse@site4u.nl with the details of the spam report (copy of the original mail and headers, and any additional comments). We will treat the complaint carefully.
Definition
Site4U defines unsolicited bulk e-mail and unsolicited commercial e-mail as e-mail sent to addressees who have not clearly and verifiably indicated that they wish to receive them from the specific sender. This includes advertisements, advertising, surveys, brochures, reselling e-mail addresses, advertising website addresses, sales information and auctions.
The policy
You may not use the internet facilities of Site4U to send unsolicited e-mail. The sender of mailings and the like is obliged to keep a register in which it can be proven that the sender explicitly requested to receive this e-mail. The absence of such a register may be interpreted unconditionally by Site4U as if this explicit consent had not been obtained.
Site4U’s customers are responsible for ensuring that they, their customers and their resellers, administrators and service providers adhere to this policy. The customer can be held responsible for all traffic to the Site4U network or outside, caused by sending unwanted e-mail. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that they do not promote themselves using unsolicited e-mail.
When Site4U receives a complaint, it is filed with the customer for the purpose of obtaining a response and a solution to the problem. If this response and the associated resolution of the problem, sending unsolicited e-mail, is not obtained within 24 hours, Site4U is entitled to suspend the connectivity of the relevant customer, until Site4U is convinced that the incident has been completely completed and measures have been taken to prevent the sending of unwanted e-mail in the future. The customer is responsible for all unwanted e-mails that are sent via his or her connection via Site4U.
Customers whose connection to Site4U is used for sending unsolicited e-mail are immediately closed, taking into account a period of 2 hours in which the customer is enabled to stop sending the unsolicited e-mail.
What does this mean in practice?
First of all, every customer needs to provide us with contact information, where we can reach them with regard to this policy. If no specific information is available, the customer will be contacted on his general data as known to us.
Customers are expected to train their respective customers and users about unsolicited e-mail, to ensure that they also act in compliance with the anti-spam policy, as mentioned above.
Site4U customers are expected to deal with complaints regarding unsolicited e-mail in a correct and complete manner, which are passed on to him or her.
When using a mailing list, you are expected to make sure that the recipients of these mailings have requested it themselves or have explicitly given permission to receive this information.
Why this policy?
Site4U believes that disabling unwanted e-mail contributes to a better, more efficient and cost-effective use of the Internet as a communication tool. This results in better service to our customers, which is actually our ultimate goal.
